"I'm sorry not to have won the Scudetto in statistically my best year to date. I am not used to winning nothing. It's the first time that it's happened to me.

"Milan have promised me an even more competitive squad for next season, so I'll wait to see what happens.

"I have no doubts about my future. The question is whether the club has any doubts about this whole project. It’s the club that must tell their plans to the squad and to us players individually.

Zlatan Ibrahimovic has looked to quell rumours that he is increasingly unhappy at Milan by coming out to confirm his desire to stay with the Rossoneri.

The tall Swede has faced gradually escalating speculation in recent weeks that he intends to leave the defending League champions in the summer. However, the 30-year-old told the club’s official channel that he is resolute in his future.

 “As we said six months ago I am happy here, I have a contract, I have no other thoughts and I am determined to finish this season well in the shirt of Milan and then that of my national team,” expressed the Swede, in anticipation of Euro 2012.

 “Milan has brought me my smile and my desire to play, Milan is my future. I have no reason to say otherwise - I play well because I am happy here, on and off the field.

 “More than this I cannot have. After the holidays I will be back preparing for next season with this shirt on me.”

Ibrahimovic is enjoying his best goal-scoring return in Serie A, yet it could be the first season he has played in the League that he could finish without winning the Scudetto.

 “There are six games in the League and we will do everything to get maximum points. We are here and we must remain focused and prepare well for each game.

 “We have one point less, but if we concentrate, we can take back the lead. Games against Catania and Fiorentina, with hindsight, are ones we could have won. It is important not to repeat those mistakes and to do our best in upcoming games. Hopefully we will be back on Sunday and I will score.

 “All players believe this team can then become stronger, but that is not easy in the current transfer market. So far, the club have done everything promised to me and I am happy to stay here.

 “I just do my talking on the pitch, with my feet, to pay back the club’s respect.”
